Dear Friends,
This one is an invitation.
To your own story.
Here at The New Glossary, I write about the words that help us live alive. On Monday, Jordan Soliday and I are inviting you to find the words for your own life.
“Harvest Your Story” is a workshop for people ready to work on the story that matters most now, to them and to others. In ninety minutes, we will help you feel the story you most need to tell, and begin to shape it.
Across years of sitting with people at the thresholds of their lives, we have noticed that the fruit has usually been growing for a long time. But there is no harvest. The fruit dies on the vine.
Many of us hold back from telling our story because it feels self-centered. What we find, again and again, is a story full of other people: the ones who chose us, and the strangers whose names we will never know. Tending a legacy turns out to be an act of gratitude, and of wonder at the people and forces that made us.
Such work takes more than a stroke of inspiration or luck. It takes a room and someone listening. You will generate words you can keep working with, and get a first taste of what it means to be heard.
Your story is inviting you.
Monday, October 19, noon ET
Ninety minutes on Zoom
Twenty seats
If this reaches you in the right season, I would love to see you there.
